The times truly are changing, and now people can easily get their information straight from their most trusted sources on Twitter, because tweets are now prominently featured on Google's mobile search engine.
The tweets will also pop up using any mobile browser, be it a phone or a tablet. It will also be available to both iOS and Android devices.
Tweets will show up when users type in keywords such as "Twitter," or even if they just use popular hashtags or the names of accounts on the social networking website, according to Tech Crunch.
If it sounds like the tweets will only come out through a specific kind of keyword entry, that's apparently not the case as those little snippets of information will appear even for standard searches.
Google said the intent behind placing tweets prominently within the search engine results is to enable parties on both ends to get what they want. The searchers get relevant, real-time information about the topic they searched for, while the searchees are given the chance to get more exposure.
Sponsored Google search engine results are a thing of course, and it's probably worth asking if companies on Twitter can pay to have their tweets plastered onto the front page just as ads usually are.
If Google will indeed take payments for sponsored tweets getting a more favorable spot on the search engine, then will that same party also have to pay Twitter as well? These issues are probably more applicable to big companies than they are to individual Twitter users, but it's a new wrinkle that will be worth monitoring as the new search engine mechanic begins to roll out.
According to 9 to 5 Google, the new search engine mechanic will be available in the US for now, but it should expand soon.
Google has also said that the updated search engine will soon be making its way to desktops gradually.
