Canon Powershot G3X Updates: On Sale For $999.99 In July With Super Zoom Capability, Wide Focal Length And Image Stabilization

Canon Incorporated has announced earlier this year that it is expanding its G-series compact cameras; the PowerShot G3 X with 1.0 inch sensor, 25x optical zoom and enhanced image stabilization.

Canon officially confirmed that the new PowerShot G3 X will have a wide 1.0-inch sensor and a 24-600mm (equivalent to 35mm film) 25x optical zoom lens but still manages to have a compact size that is made for an easy grip.

The innovative model will further boost Canon's extraordinary array of G-series PowerShot camera as it can generate photos in a modified blurred background, made probably by means of its large sensor, and renders the users with a wide focal length (that is from wide-angle to telephoto).

As presumed in Digital Photography Review, the PowerShot G3 X will give the most zoom capability in the large-sensor superzoom quality. "The Canon PowerShot G3 X is a truly superb digital camera, one that provides so many top-notch features to empower photographers of all skill levels to shoot and share stunning images and HD video with ease," said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon U.S.A., Inc.

The HD video is at 60p and you can shoot with 5.9 fps continuously with One Shot AF, and 3.2 fps in AI Servo for JPEGs. The G3 X is fully compatible with Canon's future Connect Station CS100. However, G3X will not include a built-in electronic viewfinder, a tilting XGA EVF is an alternative for $250.

Most importantly, G3 X is also dust and water proof, under a Digic 6 processor, raw image support with Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. Added to that, an upgraded Intelligent Image Stabilization system gives a virtually shake-free photos shooting at the lofty end of the zoom dimension or at continuous shutter speed, via Street Insider.

By dynamically addressing the market's diversified necessities through improving the Company's excellent lineup, Canon will remain to be the number one contributor to expand the photographic imaging back end. The Canon PowerShot G3 X is on sale for $999.99 in July.
