LeBron James' SpringHill Entertainment teams up with Warner Bros. to produce TV, film and digital content

NBA superstar LeBron James announced on Wednesday he is teaming up with Warner Bros. through his entertainment company, Springhill Entertainment, to produce and co-own TV programs, movies and digital contents.

Yahoo Sports reported King James had signed a two-year agreement with Warner Bros. in Los Angeles.

"LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his company SpringHill Entertainment," Kevin Tsujihara, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros., said.

NBA star founded SpringHill Entertainment in 2013 with Maverick Carter as co-founder and CEO. For his part, the content partnership with Warner Bros. will open more opportunities for the company to do "new, creative things that haven't been done before" 

Carter further said he's confident that this joint venture from Warner Bros. will help them expand in the right track, as the two companies have the same aim, which is to top original content creation.

SpringHill Entertainment produces creative programming for web, films, scripted and unscripted TV. Some of them are Disney XD's 'Becoming', 'Survivor's Remorse', and 'Uninterrupted'.

The production outfit also started creating an animated family series based on true stories, 'The LeBrons', which is an original content for the web. They also produced 'More Than A Game', a documentary about LeBron's high school team in Ohio. The 2009 documentary had been a runner-up for People's Choice award and was nominated for Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary in 2010. 

Warner Bros. Entertainment, a Time Warner Company, was proven to be one of the leading entertainment brand across different types of media, including film, television, worldwide distribution, home entertainment production, animation, video games, comic books, digital distribution, broadcasting and product licensing.

Lebron James starred in recently released romantic comedy 'Trainwreck", where James played as himself.

In the joint statement with Warner Bros., James related how "connecting with  fans and teling meaningful stories" have always been his passion.
