Marriot reward changes, but members need not to worry because there will be more perks coming starting this month until next year. Marriot Rewards members as well as The Ritz-Carlton Rewards members have greater privileges that they could enjoy a night or multiple stays without even spending. More points, mean more bonuses including earning points in advance, be able to use both cash and points, earning points while using their card, and even points sharing.
According to Marriot Rewards Insiders blog site, these are the four major Marriot Reward Changes that will be happening:
Earn Points in Advance
Marriot Rewards members as well as The Ritz-Carlton Rewards members can now enjoy a stay in the hotel and use their points in advance even they've not reached sufficient points yet. The advance points earned will cover for the cost of their stay giving members more privileges than they had before.
NEW Cash + Points
With NEW Cash + Points, Rewards members can use both their cash and earned points to cover for a single or several night redemption stays, according to The Points Guy. It offers great flexibility as members don't have to spend extra cash during their holidays. This feature will be available in 2016.
Redemption Stay Credit
Starting Nov. 1, 2015, Rewards members who will be using their rewards points for every redemption night will earn Elite night credit. This means, Marriot is giving more points to its valued customers.
Points Sharing
Other Marriot reward changes that will be happening starting on Oct. 12, 2015 is that members can share their points to their family and friends to redeem their points. Rewards members can transfer up to 50,000 points yearly from their account to their family or friend's account. This means, members can have greater savings and they don't have to spend more to enjoy a stay.
Marriot Rewards is an award-winning loyalty program provided by Marriot International. It covers 3,800 properties and 16 brands all over the world. Members can enjoy earning points in 3,800 Marriot International hotels and on its exclusive partner, The Rits Carlton hotel. Membership is free, where they could also earn points through cruises, miles, merchandise, car rentals according to News Marriot site.
