Vacation Rental Dwellable Online Services will be Phase Out after HomeAway Acquisition

Vacation rental marketplace, HomeAway shared the news that they have acquired the vacation rental website and app, Dwellable. The first mobile vacation rental app, Dwellable will team up with HomeAway to be leveraged. However, in exchange, the Dwellable app and website services will not be available anymore.

The changes of the acquisition, Seattle-based Dwellable group members will be transferred at the HomeAway's base in Austin with the co-founders except Winfield since he will remain on Seattle. The top rated Dwellable app and online service will be phase out in the next 30 days, according to the Geekwire. Kirby Winfield, the co-founder and the CEO of Dwellable revealed that he's been negotiating with the HomeAway since he became the CEO in 2013. He said, "Their massive reach into consumers globally was something that just made sense." 

Though, the top rated vacation rental app will not be active anymore, the CEO and the co-founder of HomeAway, Brian Sharples assures customers about one thing with their teamed-up with Dwellable. "The Dwellable team has built an incredible product with an impressive and growing base of travelers who use the app to book vacation rentals".

"With 48 percent of travelers coming to HomeAway from mobile devices (2), it's important for us to continue improving our mobile experience, with an even stronger emphasis on functionality and design for the traveler. Dwellable will help us take that next step." Sharples continued.

According to Skift, the giant vacation rental HomeAway had a record of 20 acquisitions. Aside Dwellable, their recent acquisition was from last year, the Glad to Have You app which they obtained for $16.8 million.

The Dwellable vacation rental started in Seattle and founded by Adam Doppelt and Nathan Kriege in 2013. Doppelt have said he came up with creating the Dwellable through a horrible experience on certain rental vacation.
