Here are the top 5 list of overrated US destinations that tourist should check out before visiting it. There are few travelers who were not quite satisfied visiting some of these popular tourists sites. However, they suggested some alternative place to save other tourists from disappointments.

Most visited tourist destination in New York is the 102-story skyscraper, Empire State building. While it is popular among tourists, in order to have a better view of the New York City skyline, getting on the world famous landmark observation decks is the perfect spot. However, there's much better than going to it. Heading to the Top of the Rock is the best place to have the best view of the New York City skyline, the Central park and also the Empire State Building.

US Walt Disney World was dubbed as the "Happiest Place on Earth," because it is always jam packed with tourists. However, to be saved from incredibly long lines and overbearing crowds, going to the Walt Disney World theme park located in Orlando is much greater. The movie-based theme parks have lesser crowd.

Another overrated US destination in US, the Plymouth Rock. While it is an important symbol in American history because it is the traditional site of disembarkation of the Mayflower Pilgrims, there's nothing really special seeing a rock. However, for exciting history throwback, take a trip to the Pilgrim Monument at the Provincetown in Massachusetts. Climb into the 252 feet top of the tower, where a great view of the Provincetown will surprise any climbers.

While it had been the America's cultural icon, looking afar at the Mount Rushmore with a viewing platform or even getting up close to the rock formation of the president's faces might not really satisfy you. However, visiting to South Dakota's Badlands National Park, there are several rock formations and rare animals that can be seen on it.

The White House is also considered as a popular tourist's destination in US and in order to get there, a schedule tour is needed. However, tourists will only have a glimpse of the White House from a distance that is no fun. Instead of touring the White House, visiting to the Smithsonian is much enjoyable. It is the largest museum in the world, and can learn from its 9 museums including the Natural History museum and National Air and Space Museum.
