The brand-new colour for the Apple iPhone line, rose gold, has become a mainstream for new Android devices. Chinese smartphones maker Oppo announced it will launch rose gold Android smartphones called Oppo R7S in the U.S. and Europe on December 1.

According to Mashable, Oppo claims its new smartphone R7S is the first rose gold Android on the market. The new Oppo R7S has a full-on rose gold gear like the iPhone 6S. The gold-like color is much prized in China market. When Apple released rose gold-colored iPhones, the company's CEO Tim Cook said the color was designed especially for the Chinese market.

The Oppo R7S has a much pinker shade and less gold looking compare with the rose gold iPhone. The  body is made from a premium metal alloy. It measures 151.8 mm by 75.4 mm by  6.95 mm.

According to Phone Arena, Oppo R7S runs Android Lollipop like it's predecessors R7 and R7 Plus, customized with Oppo's ColorOS 2.1.

Apple's influence on Oppo R7S is not only showed on its rose gold color. The ColorOS interface is also similar with Apple's iOS. While regular Android OS offers a separate list for all the apps on the phone, ColorOS shows all the apps on the home screen just like in the iOS.

Oppo R7S features 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and 1080p video recording and 8MP front camera. The camera app is also similar with the iOS camera on the placement of the square gallery button to the left and the flash and selfie mode icon on the border.

The device offers a front-facing flash in selfie mode which illuminates the screen in a dark setting, the same feature that Apple introduced with the iPhone 6S.

The device is powered by an octa-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. It sports a 5.5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution AMOLED display, which makes the device standing between R7 with it's 5-inch display and R7 Plus' 6-inch display.

The display is covered by Gorilla Glass 4, a step ahead with Oppo's previous model which uses Gorilla Glass 3.

The device has 4GB RAM which enable the phone to have better multitasking and faster apps loading. It has 32GB of storage that is expandable to 128GB with an external  micro SD. The device also includes 3,070 mAh battery with Oppo's proprietary VOOC fast charging technology, dual SIM support, and Bluetooth 4.0.

According to 9to5Google, Oppo R7S will have some serious competition with other China smartphones. One day after the iPhone 6S announcement, Oppo's rival Huawei announce that it will also launch rose gold Android smartphones called Mate S.

Oppo R7S will be available to buy in the U.S. for $399. The buyer from France, Germany, and the U.K. can pre-order the R7S for €349 and £259.
