Trump reacts to Russia election hacking allegations, calls it 'just another excuse'
Several reports have just emerged which put forth a rather serious allegation that Russia had played a part in the hacking of the recently held United States Presidential Elections, resulting in the president-elect Donald Trump's win. Trump himself has reacted to the allegations and mentioned that it was outright ridiculous and that it was just another excuse by his opponents to justify the loss of their Democratic Party candidate, Hillary Clinton.
According to a report published by The Washington Post, the CIA allegedly submitted a secret assessment report which reveals that Russian intelligence had somehow hacked the election servers of the Democratic camp to help their preferred candidate to win the election. The report further specified that Russia's goal in the alleged hack was to ensure that Trump would win the U.S. Presidential Elections by tampering with the voting results. While the allegations are quite serious, no official proof has been released as of the moment to back it up.
Trump recently appeared in an interview with Fox News and outright ridiculed the allegations saying that the Democrats were just embarrassed by the defeat of their candidate and that they are now just making up excuses.
"I think it's ridiculous. I think it's just another excuse. I don't believe it," Trump mentioned in the interview.
Meanwhile, Trump's fellow Republicans, Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham, have now sided with the Democrats and condemned the alleged hacking calling on both the Democrats and the Republicans to work together. In a joint statement, the Republicans warned everyone that countries that are against the United States have long been engaging in cyber attacks and now they have targeted the country's democratic institutions. The statement further explains that the entire thing can no longer be considered a partisan issue and that Trump himself must accept the fact that Russia meddled with the U.S. elections.
