GTX 980 Ti leaked information says that Nvidia's new graphics card have lower specs than its predecessor Titan X. Its rival AMD have yet to reveal specific numbers for its upcoming HBM powered Radeon R9 390X.

According to reports, Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti will use a less compelling GPU - GM200-310. It will also have lower CUDA cores of 2,816 than Titan X's 3,072.  In addition, the new graphics card will come with a lower 176 texture mapping units compared to 192 units of its current version.  There are speculations that these specs will be accompanied by a 384-bit GDDR5 memory interface, 6 GB VRAM and around 250W of thermal design power. Hopefully, Nvidia's planned unveiling of GTX 980 Ti on Computex in Taiwan will bring more clarification into the matter. In the meantime, Nvidia's rival AMD have remained mum about Radeon R9 390X.

AMD have recently accommodated inquiries about its newly developed High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) technology. However, specific performance details have yet to surface about its forthcoming flagship Radeon R9 390X.  Rumored info says that it will feature water-cooling with a significantly shorter length than the usual 12 inches cards. Sources report that AMD will reveal its newest flagship graphics card before the end of June which would either be at Computex or at the E3 gaming expo. Nvidia, on the other hand is planning its announcement within the same timeline according to reports.

It was earlier speculated that GTX 980 Ti release date will be around September but recent reports say that Nvidia's newest graphics card will be released as soon as the Computex event in June. Nvidia is also planning an immediate product availability right after its announcement. Reports add that the company's decision for an earlier release has to do with AMD's newest product announcement.  

Supposed these rumored leaks are true, GTX 980 Ti's is a puzzling business move from Nvidia. Is its new product going to contend R9 390X or is it just a lower iteration only for increased sales purposes?
