AirDog's Auto-Following Camera Drone Will Be Launched On August 31

The tag-along camera drone AirDog will reportedly be available in the market by August 31 after months of it being announced as a Kickstarter project. The award-winning robotic flyer will first be available to their crowdfunding supporters for $1,295 per piece.

AirDog still has a lot of improvements that is why the first batch will be available to the supporters only. However, the first batch is already good to go for it to be used as per its purpose. One of the tweaks that AirDog is yet to fix is the wearable "leash" in order to actually say that the gadget lives up to its name.

The gadget has been first announced last June and it was dubbed as the perfect match for the GoPro. The funding for this Kickstarter project reached $1.3 million months after it has been up on the website. The AirDog drone is one of the biggest advancements in the drone technology as it autonomously flies, follows the user, and avoids collisions.

AirDog is from the company called Helico Aerospace Industries founded by CEO Edgars Rozentals, who is from Latvia. Rozentals has been an internet entrepreneur for ten years now and has been an action sports enthusiast who got into flying model helicopters then flew drones after. The AirDog was reportedly created out of the passion of Rozentals with the help of computer science and engineering.

The AirDog has a speed of 45 miles per hour, can stay in flight for as long as 20 minutes depending on the speed of the user. It can go as high as 1000 feet above ground and is meant for rugged action sports as it is also water-resistant. The gadget can also be folded so it is very portable and can fit one's backpack. How to use the gadget was released in a YouTube video earlier this year and the features of the gadget were shown in the less than three-minute video.

The AirDog also has a competition called the Hexo+ drone but it will be released a little later than the former gadget as it will start to be shipped by fall this year.
