Microsoft to introduce 'hassle-free' WiFi for Android, iOS, Windows and Mac users

In  a bid to enhance further its global presence, the software company Microsoft is set to make available a hassle-free WiFi to all its direct and indirect customers around the world. Twitter user h0x0d discovered the website microsoftwifi.com before it went "under construction".

Here, the promise of hassle-free indicates that a user can get going just by a single login- wherever you are in the world.

Although Microsoft already offers a WiFi service at over 2 million hotspots around the world via its Skype WiFi service and paid using Skype Credit, the new service comes in another name - Microsoft WiFi - which make tech observers debate as to whether this is a simple rebranding move for Skype WiFi or a complete spin-off.

Microsoft WiFi targets a much larger audience, as Venture Beat has noted, as it aims to  provide up to 10 million hotspots across 130 countries. To locate a hotspot, one must look at a coverage map that PCWorld managed to see before the website was pulled out. It include hotels, restaurants, airports and other public spaces around the world

Responding to queries, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that they are "working on a new service, called Microsoft WiFi, that would bring hassle free WiFi to millions".

Microsoft Wifi will be initially available to active subscribers of Skype WIFI (through the Microsoft Work and Play Bundle), employees of organizations connected to Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprise, and customers who are recipients of a special offer from Microsoft.

The app for Microsoft WIFI will be available in different platforms - Mac, Windows, Windows Phone,iOS, and Android.

While Skype Wifi is already a good way to get cheaper internet service while travelling, maintaing a Skype credit in the account proves to be a challenge. This move of technology giant to introduce Microsoft WiFi would simplify the process of getting connected to the Internet in exchange of subscription-based pricing.
