"The Apprentice" is looking for a new boss; Will NBC hire George Lopez after Trump gets 'fired'?
The American broadcast television network NBC, is preparing to cast the replacement for Donald Trump in the upcoming season of the reality show, "The Celebrity Apprentice". Rumors have it that George Lopez will be replacing the business mogul. Previously, Lopez had said in an interview that if Trump wins the presidency, then they will have to move out.
In a report from CNN Money, NBC officials are currently having discussions about who will be the next host since they are removing the real estate magnate, Donald Trump, in the show.
This is prior to the management's decision to cutoff its partnership with Trump because of the racist comments he said during a conference calling Mexicans as rapist and criminals. The public found it offensive. For that reason, NBC no longer aired Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, the shows Trump had produced for years.
Although beforehand, Trump made an earlier declaration that he will quit on the show considering that he has declared running for president.
Now, the question is who will be the next 'Apprentice' boss? Initially, it has to be a person who is well-known and has a vast experience in business.
A buzz from TV Line stated that NBC is rooting for George Lopez. Being a Mexican-American, many say that it would be such uncomfortable for Trump to be replaced by him. Lopez has been known for his self-produced sitcom, George Lopez, on ABC. His comedy stint tackles Mexican-American race and cultural relations. He has also been a talk show host on Lopez Tonight.
NBC however has not yet commented on the new host but sources say they are "casting a wide net" for a possible replacement.
As TMZ interviewed Lopez, it looks like he's calling his fellow immigrants to shun Trump. "If [Trump] wins in 2016, he won't have to worry about immigration, we'll all go back," Golden Icons reported.
The 15th season of 'The Celebrity Apprentice' is expected to start its first shoot in September.
