Frustrated Boston Race Entrants Speaks Out their Disappoinments for Failing to Join the 2016 Boston Marathon

Several Boston race entrants are very disappointed after missing out one tiny problem on their time records, short of one second. Many hopeful runners are qualified however, among the qualified participants didn't made it to secure a spot for the 2016 Boston Marathon.

According to the Runners World, about more than one in six runners tried their luck to take part on the annual Boston Marathon next year, but unfortunately got rejected as runners missed out the cut. One frustrated runner, Rachel Scott, one of the 4,562 runners who got qualified from the official qualifying time but still didn't make it to the marathon's registration procedure. She expressed her disappointment saying, "It would have been easier to deal with if it had been 10 seconds, but one second is nothing. There are so many places you can make up one second in a race."

Another runner who attempted to enter the annual marathon for the next year was a student from Boston University, David Martinez. The Boston reported, like Scott, he also missed out the cutoff time due to a one second lacking. Martinez also shared his regrets, "I thought I had the race of my life, what could I have done in one second to change that? That could be anything. It could be a turn; it could have been me not taking an extra sip of water when I did."

The registration procedures for the 2016 Boston Marathon opened last September 14. The qualifying times must be run on after the date and the acceptance of the participating runners is base on the qualifying time, with the fastest qualifiers.

The representative of the Boston Athletic Association said that they have received phone calls and emails from the rejected applicants. But somehow, other frustrated runners didn't lose the hope to try again their luck on the next 2017 Boston Marathon.
