According to SPG's promos, the 2015 Member Favorites Hotels & Resorts List should be compared from the top SPG property list. Starwood Hotels and Resorts have seven levels of hotel categories for members to redeem their starpoints for free nights.
Starwood Hotels claim that the highest tier is a Category 7 property, which Starwood defines as the best hotels and resorts offering excellent surroundings in some of the world's most spectacular destinations. A guest will be required for 30,000-35,000 starpoints for a free night stay at a Category 7 hotel. The hotel guest can redeem 4 nights and get the 5th night free, however, another option for a Category 7 hotel is Cash and Points that cost 15,000 points plus $275 per night.
Starwood's second highest tier is a Category 6 property, which is allegedly the most exclusive hotels and resorts.
