Traveler Programs Update: Getting TSA Pre- Check for free
Travelers reportedly want to know how they could get TSA PreCheck for free. And now, they are provided with sorts of traveler programs that would cost them less or even for free.
Customers claim that the TSA PreCheck costs $85 for five years, which seems like a fair deal for them. But allegedly, if they travel internationally more often, GOES claim that it makes sense to instead get Global Entry. This gives the clients accelerated processing through U.S. Customs and Border Protection at airports and land borders upon arrival in the U.S.
TSA PreCheck also costs only $15 more and a total of $100 total that is also good for 5 years. Reportedly, if clients have an American Express Platinum credit card, they could pay with the pre-check and TSA will actually reimburse the $100 Global Entry fee.
But customers seemingly found an even better deal if they would travel to and from Canada often. This is for customers to get NEXUS. Purportedly, it's the same thing as Global Entry except that it is only for Canada and it also includes Global Entry and TSA PreCheck that only costs $50 for five years.
But customers claim that the downside of NEXUS is that clients need to have their face-to-face appointment in Canada or one of their enrollment centers near the Canadian border, including Seattle or Niagara Falls. The complete list of locations where NEXUS is available can be found in Canada Border Services Agency official website.
Meanwhile, for those frequent travelers to and from Mexico, they could have a pre-check through Sentri for a total cost of $122.25. Seemingly, it is just like NEXUS but it is only available in Mexico. However, for a clearer picture of what travelers should expect from Sentri, the Department of Homeland Security provides a quick and handy comparison chart. It shows all the programs, the eligibility requirements, application process and fees, along with links to all of them.
To date, these programs claim that no matter which of these programs clients select, they assure that the money they've shelled out is worth it. They guaranteed that getting these programs will mean that they will be able to past the customs and immigration lines.
