Wyndham Rewards Program; Generous "Go Meet" reward for travel planners
Wyndham is helping meeting and group travel planners get big rewards through "go Meet", which is allegedly the world's most generous rewards program for meeting planners. The hotel group has launched a meeting planner rewards program built around simplicity as every dollar spent in a meeting converts to a point.
Announced Tuesday at IMEX America 2015 in Las Vegas, "go Meet" allows the company's loyalty program members the chance to earn one point for every dollar spent on qualifying revenue at all chains of the hotel. This means that meeting planners will have no restrictions on how much or how little they have to spend to earn rewards, which separates the program from other programs, which will result in more rewards and quicker access to them.
Hotel News Resource described Wyndham Hotel Group as the world's largest hotel company based on number of hotels and is one of three hospitality business units of Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN). As both a leading hotel brand franchisor and hotel management services provider, the company's global portfolio consists of around 7,700 properties and over 668,500 rooms in 71 countries.
According to PR Newswire, Geoff Ballotte, the president and CEO of Wyndham Hotel Group declared, "The rising demand for group and meetings travel, coupled with an industry full of complicated rewards programs, gives us a unique opportunity to deliver more value and gain planners' trust, business and loyalty. With go meet, we're recognizing planners around the world for their partnership, hard work and the business they bring to our hotels."
Ballotti continued by saying, "Planners told us about the challenges they face, like minimum spend thresholds, maximum point limits and a lack of value. We're addressing these pain points head on with the world's most generous rewards program for meeting planners. Not only are we giving them a simple program and faster, more meaningful rewards, but with 230 hotels with 10 or more meeting rooms and 145 hotels with at least 10,000 square feet of function space, we can meet all of their event needs."
Moreover, "go Meet" is the first official rewards program of its kind to have both professional and casual planners across every participating hotel. Planners are eligible to earn, from the corporate meeting planner booking a large-scale convention at a full-service property to a team coach coordinating accommodations at an economy hotel for a basketball tournament, as reported by Meetings Focus.
Planners also earn points through "go Meet" on qualifying revenue, including the rates of ten or more sleeping rooms on at least one night, meeting room rentals or qualified food and beverage charges for any contracted meeting or event booked and completed at participating Wyndham Rewards hotels globally. The contract must state that "go Meet" applies to the event.
Meanwhile, Wyndham Rewards, the company's guest loyalty program, offers more than 40 million members the opportunity to earn points. They can also redeem points at thousands of hotels across the world.
