Russia Federation's largest flag carrier, Aeroflot OJSC revealed they are to drop the contract ordering 22 new Dreamliners 787 from the US aircraft manufacturing company, Boeing. The Chief Executive officer of Aeroflot, Vitaly Savelyev confirmed the voiding of the purchasing deal on an interview at a Russian television.

The Bloomberg reported, Vitaly Savelyev said on the interview at the Rossiya 24 television, it is due to the low market and slow delivery. "We're trying to exit the deal. "Boeing didn't deliver them on time and we don't need them in a slumping market."  

The Aeroflot have already confirmed it first in June about closing the purchasing order of the B787, however, the US Boeing company said they didn't received any notice of cancellation, according to the CH Aviation. The chief executive officer also added, they are contemplating of acquiring thirty-four new aircrafts from another Russian airline, Transaero Airline.  However, Savelyev said, Aeroflot is still negotiating with the Transaero Airlines lessors and its bank creditors.

Aeroflot's purchasing contract worth $4.8 billion at list price from Boeing Company. Way back in 2010, the Moscow-based airline was seeking compensation for the 787 aircraft type delivery delays, the BABW News reported. The Deputy CEO Giorgio Callegario also said in June, with the changed of priorities and market recessions, he think it's "no longer a good fit".

Along with considering acquiring thirty four new aircrafts, they are also planning to include 20 long haul flights. He said it may gain 57 international routes from Transaero. The deal contains, obtaining four B747-400s and ten B737-800s with Transaero's bank creditor, Sberbank. While with the VTB and VEB, leasing pertain to the remaining five B747-400s, B777s. The Transaero currently operates six of B777-200(ER)s and four B777-300s. And also B767s, which the Russian airline operates nine B767-300(ER)s and two B767-200(ER)s).
