Hilton Chengdu marks the opening of Hilton brand into Western China. Moreover, transforming hotel spa treatments from an extravagance to a monthly need, Hilton Worldwide has also recently launched a global spa treatment membership, The Spa Club.

Hilton Worldwide and Hilton Hotels & Resorts opened Hilton Chengdu, the first of the global hospitality company's 11 hotels in the pipeline in the city of Chengdu, China. As Hilton brand enters the city, Hilton Chengdu is the 30th Hilton branded hotel to operate in China. Hilton Chengdu is owned by George Seaton Real Estate Co., LTD and managed by Hilton Worldwide.

"Chengdu is a rapidly developing city with tremendous growth potential," stated Bruce McKenzie, senior vice president, Operations, Greater China & Mongolia, Hilton Worldwide via The Jakarta Post. He added, "In addition to having a rich cultural heritage and scenic views, Chengdu is a major transportation hub and a gateway to inland areas including the Yangtze River Delta region. The capital of Sichuan province is also a growing MICE destination and we are pleased that Hilton Chengdu has joined our portfolio as our 66th hotel in Greater China."

The 395-room chattels expands the group's portfolio to over 60 hotels operating in the Greater China region. It is located in the new CBD area of Chengdu, placing it directly opposing the Tianfu Software Park and close to the Century City Convention Centre, which is the largest in the city.

On the other hand, Hilton has also created a new wellness deal that is the first of its kind in the hotel industry, making high-end wellness pleasures more attainable to locals while capitalizing on business opportunities for Hilton's spas.

The Spa Club is a membership-based program now available for Hilton properties across its six brands worldwide. "We basically have the perfect storm for the wellness community right now," said Ryan Crabbe, senior director of global wellness at Hilton via Yahoo! News. "If you look back over a couple decades, you can see the beginnings of the wellness trend."

Hilton started the program in responses to a successful pilot program at The Hilton Short Hills, as mentioned in Hilton official website. Participating spas will offer members 6 or 12 month memberships on a monthly basis. The price of the membership will include a 50-60 minute massage or a facial each week at a minimum discount of 30% for a 12 month membership or 20% for a 6 month membership.
