AppLovin to release SDK so devs can put ads in Apple TV apps

AppLovin is set to release this month an SDK that would let developers plug ads in their new tvOS apps to earn through the Apple TV platform.

Venture Beat reported that the new SDK is built around the tvOS platform and would bring ads to the Apple TV in an unobtrusive way. Developers must do important code modifications in order for their ads to render properly in bigger screens. Coding modifications are also needed to monetize their world. This new ads system is focused more on video than static banner ads and interstitials.

In a report by TNW, AppLovin released a statement saying, Developers who create new features in the platform should earn, and advertisers should reach their target market efficiently. The report explained the advantages of AppLovin's new plan to put ads in the Apple TV. One is, it would be interesting to see ads on non-media apps in Apple TV based on the preferences of the customer, instead of the traditional pre-roll and interstitial commercials.

"Our business depends on serving 50 billion daily requests as quickly and efficiently as possible so we always want to implement infrastructure that's innovative," said AppLovin founder John Krystynak, in a report by PR Newswire.

Meanwhile, the AppLovin chief executive Adam Foroughi said that the television doesn't allow people to click or zoom in on ads, and that video is the natural fit for a high-definition immersive campaign.

"Mobile started with banner ads, and they're horrible for everyone. Now you got video, native, and it's becoming more immersive. When you look at the television, it's not a platform or screen people are clicking on. I can't really understand a native static ad on the screen. There's going to be an evolution," Foroighi said.

People are yet to see a swarm of marketing campaigns on their Apple TVs yet, and that it will still take a few years, depending on the speed of adoption among the developers, Foroughi said.
