New York and Milan City Team up to Promote Each Other as a City to City Travel Destination
New York City and Italy's Milan City team up to invite tourists to travel in between the city. The said two cities are in agreement to begin a tourism partnership for two years promoting as a city to city travel destination.
According to Washington Times, the officials from New York Tourism made an announcement on Monday that their city has joined hands with the Italian City, Milan for the said initiative. Fred Dixon, the CEO of the New York Tourism Agency, the NYC & Company said, since both cities were business and innovation hubs, he sees it as "perfectly suited" to be partners. Franco D'Alfonso, the Deputy Mayor Trade, Tourism and Territorial Marketing of the City of Milan added the partnership has a "deep strategic meaning."
The two year term agreement includes a "reciprocal multimedia marketing exchange" between the New York City and the Milan City, collaborative promotional support and the sharing of best practices in tourism, according to the Travel and Tour World. The Milan Deputy Mayor Trade explains the partnership is a strengthening the dialogue between two important actors in the in the world of design, creativity and innovation.
He added, "This collaboration will help increase the presence of American tourists in Milan. This year we already experienced an important growth of 16.48% also due to the effect Expo, from 195,453 in January to September 2014 to 227,663 in the same period of 2015."
Both cities will features marketing exchange includes a swap of outdoor media. Milan City tourism officials will also provide 700 posters that promote New City as a travel destination for Winter Season. The promotion will also start on the 13th of November in Milan and featuring the Big Apple's NYC & Company's new seasonal campaign, "Unlock NYC."
On the other hand, New York City will also have a tourism promotion for the Italian city on bus shelters with around 40.9 million impressions will have its exposure around the Big Apple beginning on mid-February 2016 for four weeks, including the Triennale design events in April.
