Disney goers for Star Wars-themed attractions will definitely feel the force of sadness as the Hollywood Studios in Disney confirmed the cancellation of its yearly popular event Star Wars Weekends. The theme event will not be offered anymore announce by the Walt Disney World management.

The Skift reported, the Walt Disney World made an announcement posted on their blog on Monday that their Star Wars-themed event for consecutive weekends in May and June will not be offered due to the construction of the Star Wars-themed land in Hollywood Studio. Once the new area is finish, the 14 acres will be devoted to Star Wars every day, said by the company.

The said event yearly gathered many visitors on four to five succeeding weekends. Fans of Star Wars film floods the event as actors from the movie, animated film, history of the Star Wars franchise are present at the themed-event  and head to Disney's Hollywood Studios for fun, pictures, merchandise, and many entertaining activities, the Inquisitr reported. 

The company also added at the post, "While Star Wars Weekends has been a great way to enjoy the saga for a few days every year, now the Force will be with Disney's Hollywood Studios every day." According to the Orlando Sentinel, despite of the cancellation of the popular weekend event, Disney still continues to slowly revealed details of their forthcoming Star Wars themed land attraction. They even release a sneak peek video of the much anticipating Star Tours ride with the incorporating scenes from the latest upcoming film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" .

Many fans were dismayed by the news.  A Disney fan from Winter Garden said, "It's disappointing. It was something me and my son went to every year." However, it was all covered and relief by the upcoming themed attractions. Disney will open new Star Wars experiences on the first day of December at the Disney's Hollywood Studios for the Star Wars Launch Bay debut.
