Nintendo opens its own online shop on EBay
As the holidays draw closer, Nintendo makes sure it has a share of the shopping craze by opening up its own official shop on the giant shopping website eBay.
In a report from the Nintendo Enthusiast, the online shop allows shoppers to directly buy amazing deals from the console such as the Wii U exclusive Super Mario 3D World, which is priced at $30, and the original Nintendo 3DS XL at $125.
Nintendo's shop in eBay is a great option where enthusiast could shop. It offers refurbished games, accessories, and consoles. There won't be any deals though, since almost everything on the shop will conform to the current retail prices, which are fixed on eBay's "buy it now" feature, or the existing refurb price of Nintendo. This shop is considered the biggest second-hand market online, but it also offers new items. This looks like a move by Nintendo to branch out to a market where consumers are looking for second-hand games.
IGN reported other items in the shop are the Nintendo 2DS Mario Kart 7 bundle, which sells for $100, Wii U 32GB Mario Kart 8 bundle, which sells at $300, and the refurbished 3DS handheld consoles that sells for less than the average retail price.
According to an Engadget report, the shop could be very beneficial to Nintendo, whose online store is not very popular to shoppers. EBay is well established and can give the computer game developer more visibility online. The new store is definitely more convenient for shoppers too. So far, there are only 334 items up for sale on the Nintendo eBay site.
Besides the Online shop in eBay, other important announcements Nintendo has made include a female Link in the popular Hyrule Warriors Legends, the appearance of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII in Super Smash Bros. , and the date when Star Fox Zero will be released.
