Forbes Top 20 Most Expensive Zip Codes in America, Majority from California

Majority of the most expensive zip codes in the United States are in California and a few of them are coming from New York.

Forbes compiled a list of America's Most Expensive ZIP Codes in 2015 using data from Altos Research. The research firm based the information on median home price data from over 29,500 ZIP codes where 95 percent of the US population lives.

In a report from Patch, nine California cities are included in the top 20 of Forbes list of America's Most Expensive Zip Codes. The cities that made it to the top 20 are Woodside at number seven, and then Los Angeles County's Hidden Hills at Number 8, and then Beverly Hills is at number 14, followed by Santa Monica at Number 17. Number 10 is 94010 Hillsborough, followed by Los Altos Hills, and then 094920 Belvedere at number 13. Meanwhile, Ross is at 20.

However, it was California's Atherton that made it in the top of the list with a staggering median home price of $10,564,038.

Dans Papers reported that in New York, Hampton villages and hamlets sits at the top spot of the list. Sagaponack is at the second spot with a median home price of $7,416,538. Meanwhile Manhattan's 10012 follows in the third spot with a median home price of $7,302,117.

For the rest of the Zip codes, 81656 Woody Creek, CO Is at number 4 with a median home price of $7,020,893, followed by 10013 New York, NY with a median home price of $6,076,018.

33109 Miami Beach, FL is at number 6 with a median home price of $5,560,077, followed by 94062 Woodside, CA with a median home price of $5,533,534. Another from California is 91302 Hidden Hills with a median home price of $5,074,231.

Coming in at number 9 is 81611 Aspen, CO with a median home price of $5,003,783. Number 10 is 94010 Hillsborough, CA with a median home price of $4,951,458.
