IMend phone repair in West Sussex grows 35% customers every month

Imend, the first nationwide phone repair service business in the U.K. gains 35% customers every month. As of now, the business had employed 150 technicians.

"We know we're on to something pretty special to be honest, because it's flying. We're growing 35 percent month-on-month," founder Keir McConomy told This Is Money.

IMend is an on-call phone repair service offered right at your home, workplace or any location of your convenience. Emphasizing that they were the first in the country, McConomy said it was perceptible to consider it as a business because there were just only a few phone repair shops in the U.K.

McConomy said the fund came from their savings. Some offered investments, but they refused to take it because the industry is developing rapidly and they didn't want to spend time on a cumbersome method of collecting funds.

The business started in 2002 for £1000. The service is headquartered in Billingshurst and Upper Beeding, West Sussex. And by now, he added 150 technical staff to fix over a hundred phones weekly.

Book a service from the online website and a technical specialist will contact you to verify your slot. The staff will get to your place in 30 minutes to personally repair the device. The repair service has a 12-month warranty. If the staff didn't successfully fix it, you won't pay any amount, according to the website.

The service covers some majority locations in the U.K. such as Birmingham, Coventry, York, Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds and Nottingham.

McConomy also founded other sites like sellmymobile.com; an online site for selling mobile devices in U.K. and U.S., LoveSales.com; a website that monitors price reductions of branded stuffs and Oxygen Accelerator; a Google Campus London startup accelerator.

Last year, the company tied up with One Stop Computer Store which allowed them to extend their range of technical service. Both shops in West Essex are available six days a week.
