Cruise line brand Royal Caribbean's ship, Splendour of the Seas suffers disruptions as one of two engine rooms caught on fire early morning of Thursday. The Miami-based cruise line brand twitted about the fire incident. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished right away and the cruise ship systems are in function.  

The CNN reported, Twenty one passengers were given medical attention as they were severely exposed on fire smoke. 19 crew members and one guest are already treated and release, however one crew member is still being given treatments.

The Royal Caribbean has already released their official statement regarding the fire incident. According to the RC Blog, "On October 22, 2015, as Splendour of the Seas was at sea in route to Argostoli, Greece, the ship experienced a fire in one of its two engine rooms.  The ship's fire suppression system was activated, which contained and extinguished the fire.  However, in an abundance of caution, it was deemed necessary to evacuate some guests from their stateroom." 

Clark Howard, the Consumer Advocate was also aboard on the cruise ship with the fire incident, the AJC reported. Howard, from the Atlanta local News 95.5 and AM 750 WSB was among the 2,000 passengers on board, who also gave updates to his colleagues in the radio newsroom regarding the cruise fire. He was using the WSB mobile app to relay the news. On his recorded voice, Howard reported,"We had a severe engine fire that lasted just under two hours. We were adrift at sea for a good while, and now we're moving on less than half power."

According to the Royal Caribbean twitter statement, the ship is still sailing to Greece and no injured passengers were reported on their released official statement. The cruise line brand also didn't provide any information about compensations to the passengers regarding the disruptions.
